Hello world!

Welcome to DREAM, where we are Daring to Reconcile and Embrace All in Mississippi!!  We may be a new organization, but we are far from a new idea.   We draw much of our inspiration from the teachings and life of Jesus, who lived among us some 2000 years ago and showed us how to bring about God’s Dream for the world.  But we also find that Dream calling out to us from many other places, from the Hebrew prophets to the Freedom Riders to the longing of our own souls.   May we follow that Dream and make it reality, claiming the promise found in Ephesians 3:20 that “God, who by his might power at work within us, is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of; infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.”

  1. Nearly fifty years ago (November, 1962) along with twenty-seven other Methodist ministers, I signed a statement called “Born of Conviction” which advocated racial justice and harmony and for public education in Mississippi. It created a firestorm in that charged atmosphere of Mississippi. But now, a half century later, look what great progress has been made. Keep dreaming.
