Good music, good pizza, and a good time!!

This Sunday, May 1st, at 4 p.m. – Benton Stokes will be in concert at Soulshine Pizza Factory in Ridgeland, MS.   Come support a local business and an inspiring musician!
Benton Stokes is a singer-songwriter with a love for soaring melodies, funky piano playing and smarter-than-your-average lyrics.  He got his start in Christian music, writing hits for Point Of Grace, Natalie Grant, Sandi Patty, Kathy Troccoli and Brian Free & Assurance among others.
After years of writing for artists and working in the industry of music, Benton decided to shift gears and try something different.  He went to work for Starbucks and started writing songs for himself, communicating his faith and his take on life and love from a more transparent angle.  The result was Grace & Gravity, a ten-song collection that reads like his journal.  His songs cover a breakup (“Better Off Broken”), the catharsis of telling your secrets to a stranger (“Confessions Of A Lesser Me”), unity among diversity (“Blue”) and the unfathomable reach of God’s love and grace (“Unreal”).
Benton currently works at a cafe off Music Row in Nashville and leads worship at Covenant of the Cross Church in Madison, TN.  He is dad to Zach (14), Nick (11) and Alyssa (8).  He is also writing for his next record, hopefully to be completed this fall.

  1. Wow! What an amazing message Benton brought to us last night. It’s like he put his personal journal entries to music, sharing bits and pieces of his journey that would resonate with anyone who is living life in the reality of brokenness and pain as well as beauty and grace. I haven’t been able to stop playing his cd all day! Definitely need to get him back to Jackson to share his message and ministry with more folks.
Thank you, Benton, for sharing some of your story with us.

  2. Agreed! I knew I’d enjoy his music from the web info I’d seen, but I didn’t think I’d be simply blown away (as I was). His lyrics, his voice, his message… they all went straight to the heart. I hope we can have him back in Jackson soon. Love the cd “grace and gravity” and am going to preorder his next one.
